A New Normal
A. Introduction
As we anticipate the time that vaccine for COVID-19 will
become available, we have to prepare for the new normal
with blended learning where school attendance will be
done both online and onsite. In this process, we plan in
consideration with the requirements of COVID-19 minimum
health protocols as outlined and spelled out in related DepEd
Orders and Memorandums. ACE Montessori completely
adheres to its foremost responsibility of protecting
the health and well-being of its students, teachers and
stakeholders.
Further, this institution is committed to follow the health
standards and practices stipulated in DepEd Order No. 014
s. 2020 dated June 25, 2020: “Guidelines on The Required
Health Standards in Basic Education Offices and School”
B. Minimum Health Protocols
1. Health Certificate shall be required of all the teaching
and non-teaching personnel at least a month before
the start of onsite learning from the medical facility
recommended by the institution.
2. Wearing of face mask and sanitizing with alcohol, hand
washing are musts for everyone who enters and/or stays
in the campus.
3. Markers in the school grounds, canteen, offices and
classrooms will be made visible at all times to ensure
that social distancing is strictly observed.
4. Students shall be encouraged to protect themselves from
the virus by having a bottle of handwash or alcohol in
their bags for personal consumption aside from what the
school provides.
5. Other safety health measures that will be regularly done
and monitored.
a. Weekly disinfection of the entire school facilities
b. Use of Thermal scanner thermometer to check body
temperature of every one that enters the campus
c. No group activities that will entail physical contact
of the students and school personnel shall be done
during classes or at any time the students are in
school.
d. Roaming guards or personnel from the General
Services shall be assigned to monitor the
observance of social distancing in places most
frequented by students and personnel, particularly
hallways, canteen, comfort rooms and playgrounds.
e. Hanging out in the school campus after classes will
be strictly prohibited.
C. Class, Size and Schedule During Onsite Sessions
To ensure that social distancing is strictly observed during
Onsite Classes, the following institutional policies shall be
implemented;
1. Only 10-12 students will be accommodated in every
classroom at a time
2. Time allotment and schedule for synchronous onsite
discussion, and asynchronous online learning
and assessment per subject area shall be clearly
communicated to the students and parents.
A. Preschool (Kindergarten 1 and 2)
During this pandemic, it is suggested that preschool
curriculum will focus on the development of the following
competencies.
1. Mathematics
2. Reading and Comprehension
3. Writing
4. Language
5. Science, Sensorial Skills and Practical Life
Some other learning areas will be integrated in the
teaching of related core subjects, as:
1. Values Education shall be part of the lessons in all core
subjects.
2. Practical life will be part of the daily routine during
synchronous learning.
3. Science can be the content base in the teaching of
Language and Mathematics.
4. Music, Art and Physical Education may be incorporated
in the daily routine during both synchronous and
asynchronous learning sessions. See the weekly class
program (table 2).
5. Assessment every Friday may be done synchronously or
asynchronously.

Synchronous Onsite Learning - 4 hours
