knowhow on the utilization of various tools and
platforms available for online or distance learning.
11. Design and deliver curriculum-based lessons in a manner
relevant to the present health situation of the country.
12. Continuously discover and use strategies to engage
students in the content and to nurture a supportive
online community for maximum student participation
and learning.
13. Provide students access to the lessons and activities
that they may have missed because of some reasonable
circumstances. For this, the teacher should always be
prepared to share printed copies of his/her PowerPoint
presentations or lecture notes that contain the salient
points of the discussion.
14. Record and monitor student’s participation and provide
immediate and accurate feedback.
15. Provide prompt, meaningful feedback for specific
purpose.
D. Engagements of Parents/Guardians
1. Provide their children with the following:
a. Reliable technology
b. Study environment conducive to learning
c. Assistance and guidance whenever necessary
2. Serve as coaches of their children, and support them
through their learning process, but at the same time
parents should make sure that they are not developing
overly dependent children. They should create a
space for their children to develop their abilities to be
independent learners.
3. Set an example of positive behavior patterns learning
processes of distance education for their children to
emulate and follow.
4. Impact on their children the basic values of honesty,
discipline, integrity, responsibility resourcefulness and
creativity to ensure maximum learning and productivity
in distance education
5. Find a balance before being a parent and a teacher
at the same to ensure positive influence on the total
development of their children
6. Get education or training on the learning management
system used or required by the teachers and by the
institution to maximize their roles as coaches for their
children’s learning processes
7. Make themselves available to personally come to
school to pick up copies of lecture notes, homework,
assignments and other tasks, in case of connectivity
problems.
8. Attend parent-teacher conferences (virtually or onsite)
to discuss students’ concerns and performance.
9. Maintain open communication to ensure the continuous
education of their children.
10. Maintain effective partnership with the school based
on mutual trust and respect, and shared responsibility
for the seamless education of their children even in a
virtual learning situation.
