The Academy of Christian Excellence Montessori will
maximize the use of Hybrid Blend of both the Synchronous
and Asynchronous Learning Modalities in an online learning
environment.
2. Pacing. The learner can achieve his/her learning
goals or objectives at his/her own pace or speed (within
the specified time frame of the lesson or course). The
learner has the freedom to choose the method from
which he/she can best understand and complete his/
her assigned tasks. Asynchronous learning also gives the
learner a more comfortable length of time not only to absorb
new information and knowledge, but also to have a chance
to review information, take notes, and practice retention
without the presures of the speed of a lecture, or the pace
of his/her classmates. Learning experience is based on the
learners needs, and not on the tempo of the classroom.
3. Affordability. There are several opportunities for learning
that carry a lower price tag because they can be administered
without day to day instructions. There are many ways which
offer a chance to pursue education with a minimum of
oversight, and therefore, at a minimal expense, such as:
a. Self-Guided Modules
b. Video Tutorials
c. Virtual Libraries
HYBRID BLEND OF SYNCHRONOUS AND
ASYNCHRONOUS MODES OF LEARNING
DELIVERY
The Academy of Christian Excellence Montessori considers
the following crucial factors that define the application of a
hybrid blend of synchronous and asynchronous modalities
for effective delivery of learning in a purely online education.
1. Diversity of learning abilities of students according to
age and grade levels
2. Nature of the subject matter and the level of difficulty
of the learning tasks that the teacher expects students
to accomplish within specified time frame.
3. Unforeseen situations and/or circumstances that may
affect the delivery of learning
To respond to these situations/concerns, Preschool to
Grade 3 students shall be provided with contents and tasks
that they need to accomplish within a specified time frame
in a form of ACEM Distance Learning Kit or Modules which
will be made available to the students via Google Classroom
or may be picked from school by the parents or guardians.
Accomplished activities/tasks may be submitted to the
teacher through the same process, platform, or any platform
most convenient and accessible to the learners. Synchronous
learning in these grade levels must be limited to avoid
technostress on the part of the students.
Grade 4 to Senior High school classes require more
sessions for synchronous learning which will be scheduled
on definite time of the day. Asynchronous learning will be
used to discuss content, conduct demonstration lessons, and
show processes and experimentations. Reinforcement and
clarification may be done during synchronous sessions or the
teacher may provide his/her students a schedule where they
can communicate for inquiries, clarifications or consultations
through various social media platforms most convenient to
both the students and the teachers.
